Rob has over of 30 years’ experience leading businesses in consulting, technology and business services. He specialises in supporting organisations at inflection points in their development, growth and ownership. In addition to being a founding partner at Garwood, Rob is the chair of a health tech business and a workplace reform advisory and training business.

Outside work, Rob co-owns with his wife a gallery exhibiting work from over 100 East Anglian artists.

Career highlights include:

  • CEO of a £120m listed international software and services business in the education sector. Rob directed the business’s expansion in Asia Pacific through the acquisition of a series of complementary businesses.
  • Divisional MD of a £70m UK public sector consulting business. Rob led the post-merger integration of five acquired businesses into a single operating business with the subsequent sale of that business to Capita.
  • Co-founder of Avail Consulting, a management consulting business that grew revenue from zero to over​ £12m in five years, with lifetime revenue of over £35m.
  • MD of two NHS commissioning support units (CSUs). Rob led the design and development of each CSU, the successful navigation of their NHS accreditation process and the subsequent operation of their services.
  • KPMG partner, leading the organisation’s work in national security and justice. Rob led a team of 60 consultants working on a range of development projects for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Home Office and Cabinet Office.
