Mark has worked in professional services businesses for over 30 years. As a Partner, CEO and executive vice-president, he has led UK and EMEA operations in a Big 4 Consultancy, two quoted companies and a privately-owned business that he led through scale-up and exit. He is currently a non-executive director to a fast-growth offshore systems integrator and is also an accredited executive coach working with a number of consultancy leaders. He has a track record in business turnaround and rapid top-line growth through focused sales activity.
Outside work, Mark can be found planning his next long distance cycling trip, playing golf and – when he can find the time – watching almost any sport possible – in particular if Liverpool FC are involved!
Career highlights include:
• CEO of Hedra, a public sector consultancy which tripled revenues and profit in 5 years. This growth culminated in Mark leading the sale of the company to a FTSE-listed business.
• Divisional MD of an £80m consultancy business where Mark led the post-merger integration of two businesses and the expansion of the operations in the Middle East.
• Senior vice-president in Hitachi Consulting. Mark led the sales and management consulting business across Europe, including the acquisition of an operational consultancy business based in 6 European countries.
• Executive vice-president and head of EMEA for RGP, a NASDAQ-listed consultancy. During his 4 years as EVP, Mark led the turnaround of the £90m EMEA business and returned it to growth and profit. This involved both businesses disposals in some European countries and a strategic acquisition in Germany. Mark also served on the RGP Global Management Team.
• Currently a non-executive director for an Indian-based Oracle systems integrator that has been growing at 30%+ during the 4 years when Mark has been involved.
• Partner at KPMG Consulting for 5 years where he led the local and central government practice.
