Operational Due Diligence and Post-Deal Integration Planning of Atombit

The Challenge

Atombit Group, a fast-scaling consultancy in the emerging field of Experience Intelligence, was preparing for the next phase of growth. With backing from Palatine Private Equity, the business had rapidly expanded its platform through a series of strategic acquisitions across the UK, Europe and India.

However, with ambitious plans and a newly enlarged footprint, they needed to be sure Atombit could operate cohesively across the acquired businesses, achieve growth plans with a scalable operating model, and successfully integrate new businesses. Palatine required a trusted partner to assess Atombit’s readiness for growth and provide insight into how to deliver value from the acquisitions.

The Solution

Palatine engaged Garwood to conduct Operational Due Diligence (ODD) on Atombit as part of the investment process. Working in a tight collaboration with teams from both Palatine and Atombit, we assessed Atombit’s current position and recommended steps they could take to create a future operating model that would set them up for success. Our work touched on Atombit’s value propositions, core processes, capabilities, technology,governance and lots more.

Our review covered the full operations value chain, from lead generation through service delivery to cash collection. We also looked at their readiness for doing successful post-merger integration (PMI) planning and helped evaluate suitable technology platforms such as professional services automation (PSA).

We provided practical, actionable recommendations on how the business could scale efficiently and sustainably. Following the investment, we were retained to provide strategic and operational support, including PSA systems evaluation and ongoing integration planning, all of which will be key to Atombit’s buy-and-build strategy.
