Integrating five companies into one to build a market leader in experience intelligence
The Challenge
Atombit was founded with a clear aim: to become the market leader in experience intelligence, bringing together customer and employee experience capabilities built on data analytics. To supercharge the plan, the business launched in 2025 with the rapid acquisition of five businesses to form the initial platform.
Early success depended on rapidly but carefully integrating those five businesses into a single, cohesive organisation. This meant aligning sales, operations, delivery and core systems into a new operating model while maintaining day-to-day performance.
Although the leadership team considered managing the process internally, they recognised that integration at this scale required specific experience and dedicated focus. On the recommendation of its private equity investors, Atombit engaged Garwood Growth.
The Solution
Garwood Growth worked alongside the Atombit leadership team to define and prioritise the integration plan. Drawing on the experience from similar ‘buy and build’ scenarios, the focus was on clarifying what mattered most and sequencing initiatives with a strong emphasis on process, people and technology.
The initial phase established the foundations: building the high-level operating model, starting to define new processes, getting ready to deploy new systems. Garwood was then retained for a second phase focused integration management, detailed operating model design and implementation of core technology platforms. In parallel, we helped them create a repeatable integration playbook and build their internal capability for managing future acquisitions.
The Result
Atombit emerged from the engagement with:
- Clear priorities and a structured plan to align five businesses into a single, integrated company
- Aligned processes and systems across the group
- A repeatable integration framework to support future acquisitions
- Internal capability to manage those future integrations without the next for external support
